Your program shows how to make passive income by creating a “digital product” and offering it for sale on the internet. What kind of digital product should I make?

First of all, when we say “digital product,” we’re talking about a course (or a “program”) that teaches people how to get better at something, or to solve a problem they’re having. In Module #1 of Passive Income Breakthrough, we help you to brainstorm ideas that you can turn into products that people will want to buy.

We all possess some knowledge on a topic, or have experience with solving a problem or getting better at something, which people will pay money to learn.

(Or, it isn’t hard to find someone who has knowledge you can turn into a product. It could be someone you already know!)

Our Facebook group is also a GREAT place to discuss your ideas and get feedback.

Do I have to write an ebook, and if so, how long does it need to be?

No, you don’t have to write anything if you don’t want to. As you will learn, digital products can come in all kinds of different formats. As long as your customer can view it or download it on their computer or mobile device, it qualifies as a digital product.

Many popular digital products are based on an ebook, but others don’t include an ebook, and have videos instead.

For example, if your product is on a topic like “how to learn to play rock guitar,” “how to get a more powerful golf swing,” or “how to learn self defense,” you’d probably want to teach it with videos.

Or you could have an ebook + some videos. Or just an ebook.

It’s really up to you. Your customers really just care about getting good, helpful information.

As for how long an ebook should be, again, the bottom line is that you just need to deliver info your customers will find helpful. In you can accomplish that in 50 pages, your customers will be happy.

I know I’d rather read 50 pages of helpful info, that gives me what I need, rather than have to slog through 300 pages of fluff just to get a few tips.

If I make videos, do I have to be in them? I don’t know if I want to be “on camera.”

No. It’s perfectly fine for you to use a “pen name” or an alias for your product, instead of your real name. And you can get someone else to appear in your videos and be your “front person” if you wish. This is common also.

But if you enjoy making videos and don’t mind speaking on camera, or writing about your topic, getting your product done will be that much faster and easier.
